Take a summertime Walk with me

It's hot in Florida right now but I've still managed a few hikes.

One of my favorite places to hike is Halpata Tastanaki Preserve from the Pruitt trailhead.

In the cooler months some people ride horses in this area but right now all is quiet.

Can you see I'm the only car in the parking area?

I only saw 2 people on the trails but I recognized them both. The lady with the baby in the stroller is a regular here and we've talked before. She is a dedicated walker to push that stroller on this rough trail, with a dog in tow as well.

And we've seen this artist a few times in this area. He told me he draws realism and was happy with the sky and variations of color in the plants and grasses here.

I thought it was one of the most beautiful days and the temps stayed in the low 80s while I was there.

Let's keep walking!

These Sandhill Cranes were hanging out in the parking area but I actually saw Cranes in 3 places on my hike.

Lots to see and do if it would just cool down a little bit more!

I love this quote and used it again with a white feather I saw in the grass.

How are you doing this week? What's your weather like?

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

I'm linking with All Seasons at the Jesh Studio too!

It has been so hot to me and humid. But girl....we got a down pour last night with heavy thundering and lightening and wind! Several of my plants I had on a ledge had blown over. Water standing in my yard. Love the quote too on the beautiful pictures. Hope your week is wonderful for you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hot as you know well is what we are! And without air conditioning unit and using the window units it's cool but not real cool! That is a beautiful Trail and well worth the hike. But I can't take the heat so no hiking for me it's all I can do to walk the dog I get my exercise inside or in the backyard in the pool. It's just too hot for hiking for me for some reason every year older I got the less I could take the Heat. I have the messy hair and the dirty feet but you can't see the sparkling eyes because my eyelids are drooping

Hello,

I always enjoy your walks and I happy to take with with you from the comfort of my cool home. Our AC is running constantly. It is hot in Florida, Maryland has been hot and humid for a while now. I love the Sandhill Cranes and the beautiful skies. The quote is great, love it.
Have a happy day and a great week!

What a wonderful place to go for a walk, so peaceful and quiet, sounds like you saw more wild life than people, which is just as it should be.
We've had a few hot days this week so are not going very far from the cool indoors. Our favourite time of day is late afternoon we we can sit out in the courtyard garden and watch the world go by.
Have a lovely week, Happy MM.

It is so hot - I don't know how you are still hiking. I'm doing good to go for a drive. Beautiful photos as always

So glad you have still been able to get out and about. It's been SO hot here in Florida this past week. I've just stayed inside in the AC. I just can't withstand the extreme heat anymore. I hope it starts to cool down a bit soon. Have a great week :)

Good Morning Diana, it was lovely to get up this morning and follow you on your nature walk. Your photos are always so peaceful and a wonderful look at the beauty in our marvelous world. While there is so much chaos going on around the nation, you bring us back to the loveliness and tranquility that should be our normal. Thank you for a breath of fresh air.
God bless you.

Love the wise words in the last mosaic. How true. That´s us. isn´t it?
But how sad that people don´t enjoy the outdoors. Pretty much the same over here. Not much visitors outdoors. Or indoors for that matter. Beautiful to see the cranes up close. Ours have been very shy this season. Have seen them but no young.
Take care.

Wow, that woman is determined to get out and walk to take the baby in the stroller and the dog too on such a bright sunny day! Amazing! And the artist! Oh, I'd love to see what he paints! Loved your pictures, and the little white feather on the grass. I love stuff like that too. It's been a little too warm for me to get out much lately. I am sure looking forward to fallish days that hopefully will start sometime soon...(I know better...I've lived in Florida most of my life...but a girl can dream!) Right now I enjoy cloudy days better than the sunny ones. Enjoy your walks and keep taking those pictures!

Hi Friend,
We got out for our walk Saturday and Sunday. It was humid both mornings. I have naturally curly hair, so the humidity gives me a perm after each walk. ;-)

What a beautiful park! How nice to get to enjoy it without lots of people about. Hot and humid with on and off rain around here today. Enjoyed taking the walk with you :) Hope you have a great new week!

Beautiful walk along--
and yes it's hot, but I think by being outside even in some sun and heat is good for us as it helps us to better be able to handle all the heat--does that make any sense to you!!
love the photos but my favorite one has to be the feather--
I love feathers and have a nice collection!!!
stay safe--luv, di

What a lovely walk, though I prefer walking where there is shade from the trees. We must walk at 6 am during our heat and humidity. Great shots of the herons. Your photos are terrific!

My weather is the same as yours but I have not been hiking. I love going along with you!!

Hi Diane!

We seem to have both had trails in mind to blog about this week :) Your trail looks wonderful and I love the quote you found to describe the joy of walking out in nature. We are fortunate to have such pretty places to walk.

Angie said...

Diane - your quote reminds me of our family motto - Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow, what a ride"!

Our weather was pretty hot, but now we are back to our normal temps of mid70s. Gorgeous! Thanks for linking up to Mosaic Monday!

I enjoyed the photos and the great quote! Have a good week.

A wonderful way in nature, wished I could walk there. But my knee said NO...

...it's very hot and humid here in the last days. Today we get maybe some rain - we hope, because the garden is dry.

Stay healthy and well.
Happy MosaicMonday

Lovely photos! Here in Central Alabama, it has been very hot, and yesterday afternoon we had a severe storm at Lake Martin with over 70 MPH winds! Power lines were snapped (so were a few trees) but we didn't have any damage, only loss of power, but it's back on today!

I love your bird photos!

You are a determined walker! I like having places almost to myself, and it's easier to social distance (hee hee). Our summer has been cooler than usual, but not bad. I do miss those days when it's warm from morning to night - here I wear a light sweater until noon and then again after dinner. Dropped feathers are pretty things and always make me think of Emily Dickinson's "Hope is the thing with feathers..."

Ann Thompson said...

That looks like a really nice park. I can't imagine pushing that stroller with one hand and holding on to a dog with the other.
Love that quote at the end of the post

oh I love that first picture...that pretty blue sky and those CLOUDS!!--SO BRIGHT and pretty. We've been walking but it's just awful humid and our walks feel so dang short I feel like it's a waste of time, but I know any walking is good for us, better than none, right?! LOL Usually in August every year we have to just abandon the walking for a week or two due to the heat and humidity, maybe that time is here. I love summer but I may just be ready for Fall soon, ha ha! Oh yes!--I love the dollhouses and yep!--we would sure have fun arranging them wouldn't we? PS--I like your bird pictures.

That is a great quote, Diane! What lovely photos. Just loved that first one with all the blue sky and clouds and all the green below. I want to walk in that photo!

How lovely to see the sandhill cranes so close. I only ever hear them as they fly overhead, either coming or going, spring or autumn. Their calls make one shiver with delight at hearing it from all the way up there in the blue yonder.

Hello Diane - we're doing well so far in Thailand, although I so miss beautiful walks in the country on a summers day. Aren't the colours just so beautiful, and your air so clear - love those cranes so elegant!
Happy wanderings!

I love the quote! That is me except in addition to dirty feet, I am dirty ALL OVER! This week Lowes delivered my fourth (yes, I said fourth!) new washing machine. I MUST have one that soaks clothes overnight or the stains in my garden clothes won't come clean. The new washing machines won't pause without draining and the salesmen don't know which ones will and which ones won't do that. I am having to try each one and then return it. One brand did that but it had another technical problem and had to be returned for that reason.

The engineers who design them obviously don't have filthy clothes or they would consider this feature a necessity like me.
