The Graceful Great Egret

I was so pleased (with my new camera) and these photos of the Great White Egret.

It's not easy to zoom in on birds that are flying high in the sky.

I loved the way these came out just a little bit dreamy.

Do you see the photo bombing Buzzard above? lol

Swallow-tailed Kite below!

I haven't taken many Swallow-tailed Kites lately because I have SO many photos of them already. And they are common here in Florida during the summer.

But these came out a little different with my new camera so I'm glad I zoomed in on these.

Lots of pretty mushrooms in the woods right now.

And I'm always stopping to try to get butterfly pics.

There are hundreds of dragonflies flying over the preserve now too. Hope they're eating all the pesky bugs!

It's hot in Florida right now and I can't get out every day. But then I can look outside sometimes and see a Wild Turkey walk through the yard.

Maybe he's looking for some shade!

That keeps us entertained!

What's been entertaining you this week?

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

I'm linking with All Seasons at the Jesh Studio too!

Gorgeous shots! I'm glad you are enjoying your new camera. We have a little family of wild turkeys here in my neighborhood, which is really weird being right by the beach and no undeveloped areas anywhere close by. They are definitely entertaining! Have a great week :)

I'm so glad that you are really enjoying your new camera. I love mine. It takes great photos. I love that dragonfly. I haven't seen very many around here so far this year. Hmmm, I wonder why. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.

Well I don't think that turkey needs to worry about anybody having him for Thanksgiving dinner unless he starts to eat a little more. That's one thing I've never seen in the wild as a turkey.

I love looking at the beautiful photos you take of birds, the sky, and nature. Have fun with your new camera as the photos are awesome. My daughter got a new camera too and is enjoying taking videos with it. Hope you stay cool and have a nice week.

Good shots of the flying birds. Diane, I am glad you do not hike in the awful heats. It does seem the turkey's looking for shade. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Bruce said he saw two wild turkeys in our field the other day. I think it is a first sighting for our farm. Mr Hawk came to visit us at Grimmwood. He was near our porch....guess he just wanted to hang out with us.:)

Your new camera took great action photos of the birds, Diane, and I always love seeing butterflies and dragonflies. ! It's been hot and so dry here. Now we have smoke in the air which makes it hard to stay outside for long.

Me too! Love the dreaminess of those birds in flight.

You could make a huge print of one of those photos. Put it on a wall. And just look at it... Relax... Let the free, dreamy quality of their flight, just take you away to complete relaxation.

Who needs meditation????? ~smile~

Please send a few dozen of your dragon flies up here. I love dragonflies and they are not so abundant here. Well, we aren't beside a babbling brook, so they don't have a water source, which I guess they love.

Let's enjoy the "Fruits of Late Summer"

Love all of these photos, particularly the flock of birds with the buzzard. Too hot here for me to entertain anything other than stay indoors and drink a lot of water. But so good to see you out and about, enjoying your life.

The collages are beautiful and the dragonfly. I've not seen a swallow tail before, not in person. Great photos. I know you're loving your new camera.

Wonderful pictures. Oh I am so glad you are enjoying your camera. You are making me want to grab my big camera (that's what my grands call it) as they are so used to me grabbing the Cell to snap with, and take some candid pictures. Hugs and blessings to you. Cindy

Didn't you just get a new camera not too long ago? LOve the photos as usual but I don't notice any difference....they're always good and way better than mine! LOL! I'm reading Girl With a Gun and it is really good! Maybe the turkey is thirsty? Stay cool and well!

Gobble, gobble. The wild turkey is mighty handsome. So are all the other birds on parade. I like the photobombing vulture picture. Maybe the vulture sees itself as an egret. :-)
Hurrah for your new camera, Diane!

Oh, you got some great birds in flight photos! Your new camera is very nice! Love the turkey too! They are fun to watch. And oh, the butterflies and mushrooms...I love seeing them all, and the varieties of each. You are blessed to be seeing so many beauties these days, even if it is too hot! Fall is coming! (soon, please, Lord?). Have a good week.

Wow, the photos of the birds are amazing!

Jenn Jilks said...

It really is hard getting them in the air, isn't it? Even with my eye surgery!
The mushrooms are so much easier.

Wonderful pictures. I can't take good pictures so maybe that is why I like to stitch them. I have a heron and an egret that I want to stitch in 2021. It will take me all year but that is my new year plans.

Hi Judy :) That's a neat-looking moth! Great photography! :)

Diane - yes, I also like the dreamy quality of these pictures. And then, the turkey pictures. Majestic in a way. It stands so tall and erect. Fascinating. We are being entertained by the squirrels, who climb our larch trees and drop pine cones (plop, plop, plop) and then come down to carry them off to their winter cache. Thanks for linking up to Mosaic Monday!

You have a pet turkey! ;P Our Westies keep us entertained constantly. They do not like critters on our property...they take offense to them!

Caroline said...

Hi Diane, beautiful photos. It's heavy to zoom in on flying birds. I like the wild turkey.

Vee said...

Interesting to see birds in flight. I am glad that your new camera allows those zooms. The turkey has such wonderful colors. This surprises me for some reason. I want a room in those colors.

You did great. It is not easy to capture "flying objects" :) Love your shots of the Swallow-tailed Kite. I have only ween one once on one of my trips. It is beautiful.

Howdy there girlfriend, love all these pictures! I always photograph mushrooms too....they look like little fairy kingdom things, LOL. Those kite birds, we probably have those here.....not sure.....but I've sure never seen any. I'll have to check and find out.

BeachGypsy said...

PS......love your dragonfly pic. We went straight into a huge HUGE swarm of those a couple of days ago!! they are neat and I like them....but not hundreds of them swirling around too close, ha ha LOl! Do they EAT "SKEETERS"--DO YOU KNOW? If so......then I love them. ha ha

That orange butterfly is the loveliest, isn't it? And how fun to see the turkeys walk through the yard. I used to see them all the time up north and they would come by the dozen. They just walked through the neighborhoods, and went on with their day. ; ) That's wonderful that you got the White Egret in flight. Such a graceful and pretty bird. And that's a cool picture with all of them and the Buzzard in the middle.
