There are lots of Hawks here in Florida and this past week we saw two of our most common hawks right in our own neighborhood. A good opportunity to try out my new camera by zooming in on them.
This Red-tailed Hawk was in the tall Pine tree behind our house.
He called and called while I clicked away.
He had beautiful markings!
And then my hubby grabbed my camera and took these of a Red-shouldered Hawk that was perched on the roof of the house across the street.
What gorgeous rich colors!
He's a beauty too.
I'm still pointing my camera at anything that stands still and a few things that don't! lol
I thought these wildflowers looked dreamy.
And I think this is Horsemint.
Stand still! I'll take YOUR pic!!! heehee!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

You are getting some marvelous shots with that new camera of yours (that your wonderful hubby gave you ☺️). I think he likes using it, too.
The hawks are beautiful and of course I always love your flower photos too. Have a great weekend and happy snapping :)
...neat captures and a sense of humor.
Hello,
Awesome Hawk photos. They are both beautiful birds, the Red-shouldered Hawk does have a pretty color. The wildflowers are pretty.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great day and a happy weekend! PS, thank you for the visit and comment on my blog.
Well done! I love them. Raptors.
We have a lot of red hawks in our area as well. I love to see them flying. One day at Grimmwood we saw three that were flying together. It looked like they were playing with each other, Diane. We sat there and watched until they flew off.
I love hawks, and your photos are wonderful. We always have Cooper's hawks living behind our house. I hear them and sometimes see them daily.
Magnificent hawk photos! and love the flowers too ~ ^_^

Unlike yourselves Diane. We don't have too many hawks so when I have good views of one, it becomes a red letter day. I wish I could get shots of those hawks just yards from your home. And in that sunshine! Enjoy your camera. It's a great hobby but it can take over your life - be warned.
New Header!!!!!
I know it's all Nature, but I do not like Hawks. ~grumble~ They come after our little birds. They come after my son's next door backyard chickens. Killed one.
Yes, these markings are lovely.
But will you notice a lack of birds singing, since these hawks, are right in your neighborhood?
Then again, your neighborhood, used to be their neighborhood. Before this area was built up.
Wow! I am digging a nice hole here, aren't I???????? Better close, before I dig any deeper! Eeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!

Very beautiful photos of the hawks!
It must be wonderful to see them so close.
Happy Weekend!
The two people I live with in my house know that if they stand still sit still lay still or even sometimes moving they will get their picture taken and a new camera has always making me go crazy taking pictures. I love that golden hue on the second one they're both beautiful neither of those look like the hawk that screams in our yard
Fabulous pics of the hawks. I don't think I have seen a Red-Shouldered Hawk before. Great pics of this one so I will recognize it if I see one.
Great shots of the hawks. When I'm out and about, I will photograph most anything. Keep on shooting, and have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
Great photos of the hawks! Very pretty wildflowers as well. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Hawks amaze me. We have a Coopers Hawk that lives here in town. He has swooped down and ate a few birds from the bird feeder. It is more common to see them in the winter going for the songbirds for a meal.
Congratulations regarding your certificate.
Sending hugs from Wisconsin,
Carla
Great photos! That is an amazing camera!
Beautiful photos of the hawks. Nice shots from your new camera.
Very beautiful indeed...and well captured!
How beautiful!Hugs!
Diane, I like seeing the hawks. I really enjoy them flying around. But not at my house. I don't want them getting the song birds. Wish they only ate rodents. I heard a hawk this morning but never did see it. Blessings, stay safe there. xoxo, love, Susie
P.S. our Emma went to school this week, she drives now. Also at her school is her cousin Savannah and our first great grandchild ,Layla, (Emma's Niece)is is in kindergarten. So unreal to me.
Even though I didn't get a photo of my hawk, you certain did of yours . . . I'll try if he come back and I have my phone in my pocket. The wild flowers are beautiful, like you said "dreamy" :)
Wonderful hawk photos. I've never seen the red tailed hawk that I am aware of. We have lots of red shouldered hawks here, and now several Mississippi Kites too! (Thank you for the ID). Yes, that is Horsemint, a.k.a. Bee Balm, and has medicinal purposes. Used to see a lot of it in Salt Springs, but not so much here. You will be like me now...I rarely leave the house without my camera around my neck. As sure as I forget it, there will be something magnificent to take a picture of! I've learned the hard way! Love your pictures!!!
How fun to see your closeups...that is so hard to catch wildlife, I take 10 photos, and maybe one will be in focus, poorly. Great photos, and this is so much fun...!
How awesome that the hawk posed on the roof for you!
Dreamy sky in your header. Beautiful captures of the hawks in your area. You have a good camera to take great pictures.
You are having fun with your new camera!! Beautiful hawks today. Thanks for joining us at IRBB this week.
Red-shouldered Hawk is not common here, but is an exceedingly handsome bird. When I was last in Florida I was amazed at how confiding they are - very approachable.
I'm so glad you're enjoying your new camera.... and thru you, we do too!! :-) Love, Andrea xoxo
Great photos, as always, Diane.
Can I ask you what photo editing program you are using? Love what you are able to do. xo Diana
Hi Diane, beautiful photos of the hawk. Greetings Caroline
Your new camera is serving you extremely well, Diane! The crispness of the photos, the zoom features, everything -- looks really good!
I enjoyed seeing these, thank you.
Wishing you a good new week ahead.
All the best Jan
That red tail is just yelling at you! They are both handsome raptors and you and your hubby are both excellent photograohers!
how nice to see your mosaics today. I have seen this hawk once, briefly, when I visited Yellowstone. Love it. I saw it from the back and it slightly rotated a bit. :)
Te están quedando muy bonitas. Besos.
Lovely photos of the hawks and flowers, Diane! Thanks very much for visiting and commenting on my blog. Greetings from Sri Lanka!
I get a hawk that visits my tiny backyard in the springtime, Diane, and he'll stay for hours, just perched in a tree. I've written down every time that I see him!
Your hawks are beautiful! Rick says his talk all the time! And I've heard them -- they're very chatty! Great photos!
Those Hawks are something else, such a grand bird. Almost looks like an Eagle. I used to see them when I lived up north. This looks like a young one. They remind me of Autumn with their reddish/brown colors and golden feet hehehe. It sounds like you are loving your new camera. : )
